What happens if you don’t get your vehicle serviced on time? Is there a benefit to getting your vehicle serviced regularly?
Most modern vehicles pop a light up on the dashboard to remind you that your car is due for a service, but what if your car is a few years old and doesn’t include these features? The easiest way to find out how often you should service your vehicle is to inspect the owner's manual. There will be a section in the rear of the manual, or in a separate book, which lists all the service intervals and which service operations are required to be carried out.
If you do not have access to your vehicle’s logbook, the basic rule is every 10,000km or 6 months, whichever occurs first. For new cars And every 5,000Km or 6 months, whichever occurs first. For older and high mileage cars.
Even if you are not doing the kilometers, it’s still important to service your car regularly, as most fluids in your vehicle are susceptible to moisture and need to be inspected and replaced at specified intervals.
Reduced fuel economy
Poor driving feel and even major mechanical failures
Oil sludge builds up in your engine. Built up oil sludge can be compared to a gel that adheres to the parts of your engine and inhibits the smooth and normal flow of oil throughout your car’s engine
Every vehicle we service undergoes a safety inspection. Check all the safety stuffs brakes, tires suspension etc. A mechanical failure on the open road can have devastating consequences, especially if a critical part of the braking, steering or suspension is involved. Regular servicing identifies potentially dangerous wear on the vital steering and braking components in your car.
Exemption from warranty – For new cars, it is a condition of warranties offered that a car be regularly serviced; with log book maintained and with make approved parts. Car owners that do not keep their car services up to date risk their warranty being voided and this can be incredibly expensive if something does go wrong.
